Life Plan

So I just finished watching a film which is what I usually do to try make time go that little bit faster during a hangover. The film was called “Marley And Me” starring Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston. It in essence just follows a pair of young newly-weds through the various stages of their married life, focussing a lot on a dog they adopt called Marley (who is played by a whopping 22 different dogs).
The first thing that got me about this film was that I have never really liked dogs, never been able to see past the fact you have to put such a large amount of effort in to just look after them. But after seeing the film I sort of get the whole “A dog is a man’s best friend” now, there’s more behind their eyes than just a super efficient furniture chewing machine. I actually got quite sad towards the end of the film, but I won’t spoil it for any of you reading this and thinking of giving it a watch (which you should do btw).
So yeah, the second and more important thing that I took away from this film, and now can’t stop thinking about, is the whole “Life plan” thing. In the film Jennifer Grogan who is played by Jennifer Aniston, goes on about her various stages she has planned in life. From what I can remember and make out from the film, her plan was something like this:
• Get Married
• Move to somewhere warm
• Buy a three year house
• Have kids
It gets somewhat fuzzy as we work through her list because of all the unpredictable events that happen throughout the film. But it’s the fact she has a plan that matters.
I was wondering if many people out there have life plans and goals that they want to accomplish, and if so what are they?
I thought about this myself for a while, and I can’t think of what I really want from life. I only managed to think of about two stages. First being an investment in a house in the near future and then the obvious one of wanting to progress with my career and move up the ladder. Sucks doesn’t it right? Maybe I’ll understand what I want over the coming years. I feel as though time is always running out way too fast though, only seems like yesterday that I was a teeny bopper taking exams in high school!
So I need some inspiration, does anyone want to suggest ideas for a life plan, or share theirs if they have one?
Anyhow, my hangover is just about cured for another day.
P.S. – Happy 4th July to the Americans out there, hope you have a great day!
